Question 

What is the proper definition of 'backbiting'? Please, give some references from the Quran and Hadith also.

Answer

Backbiting means “speaking ill of a believer in their absence with the purpose of disparaging or not, and no matter whether the alleged shortcoming was related to his body, lineage, behaviour, deeds, statements, religion, or life, and other defects which are [usually] concealed from the people. Similarly, it does not matter whether the description was done by words or by gesture.”42

 اقوام متحدہ نے آج بروز منگل کو اعلان کیا ہے کہ عراق میں ۱۷ دنوں کی اس تازہ یلغار کے دوران ۱۰۰۰ سے اوپر عراقی عوام کا قتل عام کر دیا گیا ہے۔
جنیوا فرانسیسی نیوز ایجنسی کی رپورٹ کے مطابق جنیوا میں اقوام متحدہ کے شعبہ انسانی حقوق کے ترجمان نے نامہ نگاروں سے گفتگو کے دوران کہا: ۵ جون سے ۲۲ جون تک عراق میں ۱۰۷۵ افراد دھشتگردی کی بھینٹ چڑھ گئے ہیں جبکہ ۶۵۸ افراد زخمی ہوئے ہیں۔
واضح رہے کہ گزشتہ دو ہفتوں سے تکفیری ٹولے داعش نے عراق کے شہر موصل پر حملہ کر کے لوگوں کا قتل عام اور ان کی عورتوں کی عزت و آبرو کو لوٹنا شروع کر رکھا ہے۔
اطلاعات کے مطابق تکفیری گروہ داعش میں لڑنے والوں میں تیونس، سعودی عرب، یمن، شامی اور مغربی ممالک کے دھشتگرد بھی شامل ہیں۔

Chief of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Dr Tahirul Qadri arrived in Pakistan to lead an anti-government alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and other political allies.

His arrival, announced earlier this month has played out as an open challenge to the PML-N led government. With tensions running high, at least seven people, including two women,were killed in a violent clash between PAT supporters and police personnel in Lahore's Model Town last week.

The government stepped up its action imposing Section 144 in Rawalpindi prohibiting the gathering of more than four persons at a place and blocked all routes to and from Islamabad airport, even as PAT supporters hold protests in support of Dr Qadri in various cities.

Lahore: Minhajul Quran workers and police clash

Lahore- The Minhajul Quran workers pelted police with stones and chanted slogans against the government as the law enforces tried to remove blockades placed outside the secretariat of the organization and residence of Dr Tahirul Qadri today morning.
Heavy contingent of police baton charged the protesters and resorted to aerial firing and tear gas to disperse the angry workers.
The police said that the hurdles were being removed as people were facing difficulties in their movements. Bunkers and barriers in front of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house were removed.
However, a spokesman for the Minhajul Quran said that the organization had sought the Lahore High Court orders to close the roads near the secretariat. A policeman was critically injured and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Denouncing the police action, Dr Tahirul Qadri said that the government could not stop the revolution. He also asked the army to take over, because his party was being targeted for supporting the army. MQM chief Altaf Hussain also condemned the ‘police torture’ on Minhajul Quran workers.

Karachi Airport attack: Cathay Pacific shut downs flights for Pakistan

KARACHI: In response to recent terrorist attack on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Cathay Pacific has announced on Tuesday to shut down all the flights for Pakistan.

Cathay Pacific, an airline from Hong Kong, has sent an official notification to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), informing that it will no longer provide its facilities in Pakistan from June 28.

The airline has already refused to send

any flights at night in our country after the attack but now it has gone a step ahead and simply refused to function in Pakistan.

The news comes as a shock for Pakistan and it seems that terrorists were able to successfully establish their agenda by attacking one of the most crucial targets in Pakistan.

کیڈبری چاکلیٹ میں حرام اجزاء کی ملاوٹ کا انکشاف

ملائیشیا میں مسلم تنظیموں نے چاکلیٹ بنانے والی کمپنی کیڈبری کی مصنوعات کے بائیکاٹ کا مطالبہ کیا ہے

۔ ملائیشیا میں کیڈبری کی دو مصنوعات میں خنزیر کی چربی کی ملاوٹ کا انکشاف ہوا ہے۔ اہلکاروں کی جانب سے غیر اعلانیہ طور پر کی گئی جانچ میں کیڈبری کی چاکلیٹ مصنوعات میں خنزیر کی چربی کے اجزا پائے گئے تھے، جس کے بعد اس کمپنی نے ملائیشیا میں بازار سے اپنی تمام چاکلیٹ مصنوعات کو واپس لے لیا تھا۔ ملائیشیا میں ایک چینی کمپنی نے بھی اپنی تمام دکانوں میں کیڈبری کی مصنوعات کی فروخت پر پابندی کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ ملائیشیا میں تاجروں کی یونین کے مشیر وزیر احمد کا کہنا ہے کہ اگر چہ کمپنی کی صرف دو مصنوعات میں حرام اجزاء کی ملاوٹ کی انکشاف ہوا ہے، تاہم دوسری مصنوعات میں بھی یہی فارمولہ اختیار کیا جاتا ہے، اس لیے ہمیں اس بات کا اندیشہ ہے کہ کیڈبری کی تمام مصنوعات میں اس طرح کی ملاوٹ کی گئی ہو گی۔ واضح رہے کہ ملائیشیا ایک مسلم اکثریتی ملک ہے، جہاں عمومی استعمال کی مصنوعات میں حرام گوشت جانوروں کے اجزا کا استعمال غیر قانونی ہے۔
