Cave of Ashabe-Kahf (interior View)
The main view above shows a section of the interior. The crafted stone blocks are tombs; one of them has a viewing hole through which bones can be seen (inset). The bones of the dog have also been displayed.
The Prophet (s.a.w.) was challenged by the Quraysh of Makkah who did not believe in his message to answer three questions passed onto them by the Jews. One of the questions was, “Who were the youth who disappeared, and how many were they?” The Jews knew that the Prophet (s.a.w.) would only be able to tell the story if he was indeed a prophet.
The Prophet (s.a.w.) had no clue and said that he would answer them tomorrow, hoping for the answer to be revealed to him through Jibraeel (a.s.) but forgetting to say ’Inshallah’ (if Allah wills). No revelation came to the Prophet (s.a.w.) for 15 days, leading the Quraysh to greatly abuse and revile him.
The answer, however, was eventually revealed to the Prophet (s.a.w.) in a Surah named after the cave (Al-Kahf) of the sleepers. The Quran revealed the exact story that the Jews knew of, and it answered the questions similarly to the information they had. The Quran confirmed that they slept for 309 years, which the Jews knew of. The Quran however did not give an exact answer as to how many they were. Allah (swt) revealed:“(Some) will say: They were three, their dog the fourth, and (some) say: Five, their dog the sixth, guessing at random: and (some) say: Seven, and their dog the eighth. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord is best aware of their number. None knowth them save a few. So contend not concerning them except with an outward contending, and ask not any of them to pronounce concerning them.” [18:22]
The Jews themselves did not know exactly how many there were (whether 3,5 or 7) and were astonished when the Quran gave all the possible numbers they had suspected for the number of sleepers.
Question :
What is the proper definition of 'backbiting'? Please, give some references from the Quran and Hadith also.
Answer :
Backbiting means “speaking ill of a believer in their absence with the purpose of disparaging or not, and no matter whether the alleged shortcoming was related to his body, lineage, behaviour, deeds, statements, religion, or life, and other defects which are [usually] concealed from the people. Similarly, it does not matter whether the description was done by words or by gesture.”42

History of Bibi Sakina (S.A)
Sakina was Imaam Hussain's most beloved child Our Imaam was often heard to say,
"A house without Sakina would not be worth living in!"
Like any other four-five year old when Sakina went to bed at night she wanted to spend some time with her father. Imaam Hussain would tell her stories of the prophets and of the battles fought by her grand-father Ali. She would rest her head on her father's chest and Hussain would not move from her until she fell asleep. When from the second of Muharram the armies of Yezid began to gather at Kerbala, Hussain said to his sister Zainab, "The time has come for you to get Sakina used to going to sleep without my being there !". Sakina would follow her father at night and Hussain had to gently take her to Zainab or Rubaab.
There was a special bond between Hazrat Abbas and Sakina. He loved her more than he did his own children. There was nothing that Abbas would not do to make Sakina happy.
On the Ashura day, she gave her Mashk to Hazrat Abbas. He went to get water for her. The children gathered round Sakina with their little cups, knowing that as soon as Hazrat Abbas brought any water, Sakina would first make sure that they had some before taking any herself. When Sakina saw Imaam Hussain bringing the blood drenched 'Alam she knew that her uncle Abbas had been killed. From that day on Sakina never complained of thirst.
Yes Sakina never again asked anyone for water. Bibi Zainab would persuade her to take a few sips, but she herself would never ask for water or complain of thirst!!!!
